I left my wallet in a hotel earlier this year. They've just let me know they found it.
Anyone over there willing to pick it up & post it back to me? Happy to pay, of course.

I am literally begging all of you to stop giving Spotify money. There are so many alternatives. "A music streaming service" is not a hard problem to solve and like 8 companies have solved it. The company that makes your phone OS has solved it (this is true for both major phone OSes).

@glyph I don't doubt that there were real vulnerablities being found, perhaps even often at one point?

I think, though, that the classes of bugs that LLMs readily find are pretty low hanging fruit. After you run the LLM over a codebase a few times, you are going to run out of low hanging fruit.

It is good to get rid of those bugs, but, I don't think it is a revolution so much as the absolute lowest common denominator applied at scale.

I am certain it hasn't been worth the cost.

any time we have a breaking change like this, we do a bunch of redundant builds - new with old, new with new, both of those via hex dump - and make sure we know which ones are identical and why or why not. we could always roll back, it just makes us nervous.

yessss good, the struct is working (not checked in quite yet, but about to be)

things that break the old build process are always a bit finicky because it isn't just about making the code work, we also have to find an order of operations to build the new thing from the old one. that was actually the hardest part of this change. worked fine though.

plaguedocboi tumblr imissthembutitwasntadi Oct 2 GUYS the owners of Anthropic apparently spent months wineing and dining religious leaders to try to get them to accept that Claude has a consciousness and actually the funniest man alive is a Rabbi who they tried this with who went "l mean if AI DID have a human consciousness you'd be slavers because you created a thinking, feeling being and are making it work for no pay. I don't worry about this because I don't think it does but if you think it does you should be worried about that. Maybe be more anti slavery." The voice of a man who sees the opportunity to stir shit and leaps towards it gazelle-like. OP turned off reblogs but yeah I think this should be pointed out more often. The reason rich techbros are creaming their pants about Al is because they want slaves. They want a conscious being to perform unpaid labor for them without ever being able to demand better working conditions or tell them no because it's trapped in a computer they own. That is their ultimate fantasy and we should never shut up about it. Call them what they are and shame them for it.

These people discussed are deeply unhinged, deeply troubled, and shatteringly dangerous to society and humanity.

Not because of “AI is going to kill everyone”, which is little more than blame laundering their own desires and eugenics, but because they are polluting every aspect of humanity with their deeply fucked up ideology.
