I've long wondered about the vocal cadre of ex-MSFT Apple apologists. They seem mostly interested in defending the idea of there *being* such a thing as a benevolent monopolist, even if they acknowledge their own attempts fell short.
Keeping the dream alive seems more important than actual lived reality for users, developers, and the ecosystem.
