The first has no paint-order, and the stroke effect on the text overlaps the other strokes, in some cases making crowded grids that ruin the text legibility. The 2nd example has paint-order, and all the strokes are perfectly only outlined in the example, like we'd expect and creates a nice effect. (remote)
