“There are some people (specifically in the micro.blog circles of the IndieWeb, to which Baldur alluded) who defend the ways in which Manu and others talk about these sorts of things who themselves in the past have, for example, ridiculed the idea of expressing your pronouns, wanted to continue to be fans of Elon Musk just for the space stuff, and who don’t think Trump, Miller, ICE/CBP, et cetera are nazis. These are the sorts of folks who tout things like articles in The Atlantic or Harper’s decrying ‘cancel culture’, a thing that both does not exist and is their scare-word for holding people to account for punching down.”
