Back when Spotify was invite-only, and not yet a big serious corporation with record label deals and such, the catalog was just anything that we could obtain. That was probably illegal. Also it was much more fun than the serious, corporate version, since you could find some really odd stuff. A bit like YouTube in that way. Corporations Ruin Everything Around Me.
