Total giving= ~$400 M annually
Projected increase = $150M/2 years
USAID 2023 spending= $71.4BMacArthur is amongst the largest US foundations by endowment, and globally.
That puts MacArthur's spend in 2023 ~0.006 of USAID (napkin math).
One can't fill a sinkhole with a grain of sand.
