I think my biggest lesson in the recent decade of professional work as a software/embedded developer is how much all the hyped languages, frameworks, operating systems, etc. that have popped up recently mostly solved the problems of existing tech giants with thousands of employees hoovering up all competitors, VC funded potential unicorns with lifetimes best measured in months, and the occasional techbro looking to get acquihired.
