That reputable news outlets keep talking as if a group of US investors bought the entirety of TikTok and not just a part of its US assets (ecommerce and ad services apparently not included) should make you at least a little bit more skeptical of how they handle tech and business news in general
TikTok has 1.5 billion users globally but only 135 million in the US. It’s not a small or trivial mistake to conflate the two!
