@hsivonen Contactless payments predate EMV adoption in the US, using a separate standard (“contactless MSD”). There were readers that only supported MSD and not EMV — and all device-based payments require EMV support in the POS device. I think this is now purely historic, as I think issuers have largely forced contactless MSD to be disabled now?
