No offense to my friends that work in voluntary internet standards, but if you think:
"aha! global megacorp has agreed to send one engineer to Working Group X in Standards Forum Y, now I have them in my trap!", understand that:
- you cannot make them do anything particular or specific
- you can't even prevent them from doing particular and specific things
- they're not in your trap, you're in theirs
Voluntary standards are what they say on the tin. Get a grip.
