Electrical resistance is not the first quantity that comes to mind when thinking about the deep fundamental laws of nature - it's very much associated with materials science.
Yet, there are two places where it occurs in fundamental physics, even winning a Nobel prize:

Space itself has an impedance given by the ratio of electric and magnetic fields in a wave - it's roughly 377 Ohms. In fact, antennas can be thought of as impedance matching contraptions.
