The wild thing about the threads.net and App.net comparison is that it actually sounds pretty dope if it weren't Meta doing it.
Moral reasons, sure. But also because of what it could mean for indie devs in the long term.
When a sector becomes dependent on Meta, it tends to flex its power in unsavory ways. Like remember I can haz cheeseburger and text from last night? Sites like those don't exist as much anymore. FB got them addicted to its traffic and then 😵
