oh yeah, now that I've (recently) seen this on a real CRT, I can say that the blue pinstripe background just appears as a lighter, more desaturated but *solid* blue, even very close up. I thought it was a little weird that the Apple IIGS's hi-res modes were 640x200 but I guess it's a way to have a higher number of apparent colors than the mode's nominal color bit depth would imply. https://mastodon.social/@rmrenner/110695855884924301
