got myself thinking this morning about what open source would look like if it had the gumption to imagine a different world and actually try to build it. as opposed to the current state of affairs, where much of the "alternative" ecosystem is just, "well, we can build the same idea that the money machine came up with, just not as good because we're trying to play their game one-handed"
