I think a big part of where we went wrong this past decade is focusing too much on the abstract—it was always the idea of Trump we saw as objectionable; his presence. So when he left in 2020, we had nothing left to object to.

We've always had little to say about the infrastructure of fascism—ICE, militarized police, big tech.

When he leaves again, we'll go right back to funding the dictator's toolkit, assuming/hoping a dictator won't ever get their hands on it.
