I can see why Ars (and others) frame it this way, though: it's much more likely that browsers will act to close exposure tothe holes that Apple and Google have irresponsibly propped open, and that their respective OS and app store teams have zero interest in closing. The rest of tech is rotten, so browsers must act. But writing it up this way still under serves readers.
