My mother, a history major and rules nerd, has lately been reminiscing about the “handbook for women” from her college, her copy of which perished on a feminist bonfire during the sexual revolution. She now wishes that instead of burning it she’d saved it for laughing at in her old age. So for Mother’s Day I reached out to an archivist at her college, who this past Wednesday sent me a scanned PDF. Probably the best gift I’ve managed. Sometimes the internet is grand (and libraries and archives are grander).
