I spotted this wizard on the outskirts of my neighborhood while out walking the dog this afternoon. It looked almost as though the water had frozen around em. It's been a hauntingly foggy, icy day out there--beautiful and nearly silent with cold.

- Vertical photo of a striking, large, blue-grey heron with shaggy strands of thin feathers cascading from eir breast and cloak of wings as e hulks in left-facing profile in cold, grey water that is iced over just beyond where e stands. The strange, elegant, wizard like bird--a great blue heron--is looking out into the middle distance over the thick shortsword of eir bill, eir white face, marked with dark blue eybrowlike capping over eir small eye, calm and intense. E is almost perfectly reflected in the icy water below, the water and reflection marred only by the stipling of ice flecks and tiny bits of windblown detritus from the nearby pines. (remote)
