Venezuela shows that Trump operates closer to the American tradition than given credit for. And I wonder if, deep down, that's what scares us the most.
Trump operates in a way that denies us our ability to pretend what's happening isn't happening. We Americans expect a certain level of plausible deniability. Especially with geopolitical happenings. Otherwise, how could we keep our lunches down?
Trump's a fascist, sure. But mostly, he's a neocon without media training.
