When Google released their Gemma 3 model, they've reported estimated emissions from pre-training to be 1497.13 tCO2eq to train. I've noted down the number, but now I can't find the source, ugh (it was some PDF).
It's rare for LLM companies to talk about their environmental cost, so it's nice to have a datapoint.
