The latest Crew Dragon reentered in the Pacific instead of the Atlantic, specifically so that they could deorbit the cargo trunk quickly and have it reenter in the Pacific west of San Diego, and not in Saskatchewan where a super annoying astronomer made a big media disaster last year.
It's still not great, but I take that as an important acknowledgement that they know full demisability is not as safe as they have been claiming. San Diego people, watch for space debris on the beach, I guess?
