Every door in every shared building/space here says "du släckte väl?" with a picture of a candle.
But there are no candles to put out or lights to switch off. The lights are automatic.
But it made me think of how hard it is to translate that phrase.
Släcka is to put out, a candle, a fire, a lightbulb. So it's implied that it concerns some light source.
The whole thing is like "you did extinguish the unnamed light source, right?"
