Now - as an adult I have a keyboard without any linguistic symbols on the majority of the keys (I wrote some code to generate magical circles that look like summoning circles and put them on the keys. I have return, bksp, caps, tab, and shift for grounding), and they're like "HOW DO YOU TYPE ON THIS THING". I feel like this is a self created issue.
