@futurebird If I had to make a prediction--USB is about 30 years old, version 4 has kept full backward compatibility with 1-3 while finally ending the ancient Firewire design beef (merging with Thunderbolt, which adds emulation for other cables and power delivery for larger gadgets)...plus now it's got an EU mandate. It'll have _at least_ the lifespan of coaxial cable (invented 1880, standardized 1940)
