Also I didn't know about this famous message until long after the fact. I don't know if the version I played at school was legit... or even if it was the Apple II version? I think the Apple IIs at my gradeschool were replaced by macs after my first year. But it wasn't the specific pirated copy with andy's tombstone. And I don't think I ever went back and played it until now.
