Saw this on BlueSky, and unironically, yeah? Back when #cohost was still a thing, there was a user who ran a BBS for six or eight months or something. They were in their 20s, way too young to have ever called a board in the 90s. And, it was great? The message area was thriving with just a few dozen users. It can be done! We've had between two decades and a quarter century of posting publicly. Maybe it's time to get back to things that are smaller, weird, more joyous.
