People keep saying this February's plateau of #COVID19 when we should be declining is unprecedented. They're wrong. This is unusual, but it is NOT unprecedented.
This February looks much like February 2023. And, in fact, the modest 2024 holiday surge is a bit of an echo of the more moderate wave over the holidays in 2022.
This isn't the first time COVID paused its winter decline. More modest holiday surges mean slow, bumpy declines. Read more here: (1/2)
