There are friends and strangers lighting Hannukah menorahs in their windows tonight to spread light into the darkness to make us, the Jewish community, feel safe, seen and supported. I´m grateful that in these grim times so many people stand up to hate. May the warmth and radiance of all these Hannukkiyah´s lights fill your heart and home and let´s spread the light as far as we can.

• Synagogue in the Western Wall tunnels. Detail of prayer hall (surrounded by ancient stones) with a round ark made of sculpted metal incorporating the letters of the verses "Shema Yisrael", "Ana Bakoach" and the "Song of Songs" scroll, with a sculpture of the burning bush. The synagogue contains dozens of benches for men and women, a large round wooden bima. The synagogue is located opposite the 'Great Stone' in the Western Wall tunnels, near the site of the Holy of Holies.
