As a social liberal, the way I have come to understand my own relatively conservative values for software is as a gate between tides. Engineers -- like lawyers, bankers, consultants, and other highly paid professionals -- cannot change their operating environments quickly or unilaterally, but they can (on the basis of the discipline distinguishing itself through value creation) dampen malign actors.
Frontend's current struggle is to claw out of the shitcoin/ambulance-chaser morass.
