Once in a lifetime photo.
Towards the end of a fabulous auroral display, a meteor streaked through my shot.
I was literally dancing with joy!Early November 2021, near Egilsstaðir in eastern #Iceland.

- A strong auroral display beginning to break up, creating a swirling mass of green loops and spikes in the lower two-thirds of the shot. Above them, the stars are visible, in particular Ursa Major the Plough (Big Dipper) in the top left. The foreground is a silhouette of gentle hills, some trees are visible on the skyline which give scale. Near the centre of the shot, travelling from upper right to lower left, a sputtering fireball is streaking through. (remote)
