Tom represents the White Anglo-Saxon Protestant WASP power structure—upper middle class, but not rich, less relevant today.
Shiv clearly doesn't respect Tom or his "agricultural walk" lmao. Their dynamic hints that liberalism, absent of class analysis, can often be classist.
