I distinctly remember reading Nat Friedman (founder of GNOME) write about accepting job interviews at companies located in cities where there was a FOSS conference going on, specifically in order to get free flights with no intention of accepting the job
Nat Friedman now runs Github. for some reason those posts have disappeared from his blog! wonder why...
