In the past, when I’ve chosen to call people out like Vincent Ritter and Manton Reece for their harmful statements and actions, the “calling out” was a crucial choice. Both Vincent and Manton had (separately) implored me to keep my comments private and send an email instead. But private channels are where accountability never sees the light of day.
There are times when calling in is more appropriate than calling out, but never when you’re seeking genuine accountability in the face of harm.
