@Daojoan The metaphor that's been gestating in my head is a clown, on fire, running comically through a forest, flapping his white-gloved hands, setting the whole thing alight. Sure, he is a clown, and he makes silly honking noises as he runs in his ridiculously large shoes, and occasionally he comically tries to put the fire out with his squirting flower, but to just say "He is a clown" doesn't really do the situation justice.
As I type this, I realize it's an army of clowns. Still not funny.
