I don't get the discrepancy:
#Fusion power plants: "the problem is almost solved! We'll have them in a decade or two."
Fission power plants (a half-century-old tech): "uughh, it's complicated to build, we don't have the expertise, it's going to take a decade to build anything, and cost way too much."
