I think it would be very hard to convince anyone reading Hitchhiker's Guide for the first time that Zaphod Beeblebrox wasn't written specifically as a commentary on Trump and the type of power he wields.
We've known about power and spectacle for at least as many years as that book has existed, yet we've managed to distill all of our problems down into a Trumpian sludge, and some of us refuse to drink anything else.
