So my sister, who is musical, took a sound engineering course. And the course tutor had a birthday just before the course finished. So she made him a cake.

- It's a mixing desk cake! The predominant colour of the icing is light grey. At the top of the cake are two rows of sockets, the first row made in grey icing and the second in green. The sockets are arranged in pairs, a grey and a green, and below each pair of sockets is a set of six little white dots. Below these is a row of six larger sockets, grey on the outside and red on the inside; the red appears to have been glazed, as it is shiny. The stuff described so far takes up about half the cake. The lower half is occupied by a row of six grey sliders, each of which is topped by a shiny yellow dot surmounted by a matte dark red dot. The sliders are in different positions, and there is a pair of white buttons to the right of each one. (remote)
