when someone asks you a straightforward technical question and you start to answer it before realizing your explanation is about to appeal to a concept that itself needs to be elaborated on so you start explaining that and you repeat this process four or five times until you find yourself saying "okay, so there's this branch of philosophy called ontology" to someone who looks increasingly baffled and alarmed that this is your response to being asked "why are computers like that?"
