Thinking back to the time that I had to ask someone to leave omg.lol because of their ongoing offensive remarks. One of the last things they (sarcastically) said to me was: “so much for being welcoming to everyone.”
The thing is, you can’t maintain a safe space for *anyone* if you try to be a home to *everyone*. The utopian ideal of wide-open online spaces where people with opposing beliefs happily co-exist quickly crumbles when one person is trans and the other is a TERF.
