been reading about LLMs recently and it struck me that there's a lot of writing in the "how deep learning works starting from gradient descent" and "how to use chatGPT better than 99% of people" ranges but not much in between. seems maybe in general there is a shortage of technical writing in the intermediate range which IMO is probably most useful for non-research developers.
i think if you're trying to learn a topic quickly for some specific purpose (rather than general learning) it's important to pick the right level of abstraction and not waste too much time in other ones.
