Personally I think using force as a last resort to keep trading and sea routes open is reasonable, especially as the Houthis have been warned multiple times and even about where the missiles would fall if I understood it correctly, also Biden was far from "trigger happy". The scenario of just defending the civilian ships against attacks all the time wasn't sustainable (and quite expensive I think)
