@fromjason I use a little script that creates a new YYYY-MM-DD.md file each day, and will append the current time to the file when I open it.
My editor (#Helix) can easily search/page through previous days, so I don't feel the need to keep everything in one file.
If I have a topic that I know I'll collect notes on over a long time span I'll just create a file for that topic.
