I don't know much about REI. But in general, it seems weird to work for a co-op where you don't become a full voting member of the co-op. I mean you should at least be able to participate in a vote to give yourself healthcare.

Reading this article reminds me that there's nothing about co-ops that makes them resistant to adopting exploitative labor practices. All it does is allow you to establish better rules among co-op members. REI seems to have failed at that.
