I can't tell you how many times I've told people "we are choosing together" only for them to reject that responsibility. People want leaders so they have somebody to be mad at when it doesn't work out.

Often managers are in the position to decide what those sacrifices are. I do believe we would be better off if it wasn’t in their sole power. We would have to get comfortable with anxiety that comes from not knowing off the bat how the story ends cause we are choosing together.
