So many senior engineers or tech leads seem to prefer complexity, but that’s how you end up with architecture that is difficult to work with and slows down development.
Since I’m in interview mode, how can I avoid working on codebases like these or with those types of engineers?

In professional dev, the simplest solution is usually the best one because:
- Complex solutions usually introduce more complex code
- Business rewards value _now_ more than later (A whole convo here)
- Complex solutions often are over-architected for some unknown future. YAGNI.
