on the left: not a single one of these devices still boots. most of them did, when they were first put on the shelf. even if they could be repaired to boot up, a secure operating system no longer exists that will run on them
on the right: each one of these still works great, other than batteries (replaceable) and the occasional loose hinge. despite the average age being 2x of the phones, half of them are still in active everyday use

Is it a good thing or a bad thing when an interview ends early because you have finished the technical exercise and the interviewers have no more questions about your implementation???
Honestly can’t tell whether I did brilliantly or bombed that one 😭

This HDMI->USB (web)cam adapter is amazing:

I've tested it, and it works flawlessly. It has pretty low latency, and it's 7 times cheaper than Elgato Cam Link.

finally figured out how to fix the linking problem I was having with dub, and got it to start pulling packages & compiling & linking properly… at 1am. put the fix in place & tested it from bed, using my tablet & the a-shell.app…
ssh & vi & FOSS FTW!
My approach to parsing product reviews online:
Ignore 5 star and 1 star reviews, these are the fanboys and haters. Ignore 3 stars, they can't make their mind up.
2 and 4 star reviews is where it's at: here you'll quickly find out the actual pros and cons of a product.

It's astonishing to me that for all the strum und drang about tracking and ads that challenger browsers and extension extortionists offer, none of them seem keen to tackle direct fraud head-on.
I guess this is what happens when you hire only product people and no system thinkers. Late-stage-market-ism far too early.
