if I am following 500, am I actually following anyone? if I am 1 of 500 someone else is following, are they actually getting anything from me? the numbers are attractive, because we love to quantify in order to compare, but are they meaningful to me as a user?
after all these years on socmedia, I am not sure I am closer to a definitive answer to any of these questions, nor even if the numbers are a valid measure of anything socially significant.
