This was Braun's last ever HiFi system, released in 1990. In their own words:
"The consumer electronics market is characterized by cut-throat competition. Manufacturers not offering an innovation or at least cosmetic pseudo changes every 2 years are quickly suspected of being obsolete.
This increasingly risky development would mean having to weaken certain principles of our design philosophy: honesty & durability. We will no longer support this development.
Braun HiFi becomes history."

- It’s jarring to read a story about a neighbor calling the police on a nine-year-old Black girl spraying for invasive lanternflies, describing the girl to a dispatcher as a “little Black woman walking, spraying stuff”, and then switch over to another tab with a story on the 30-year old “crypto kid” who might’ve just made an oopsie with billions of dollars of customer funds. On one hand, literal children are portrayed in the media as adults, and treated as such in the prison system; on the other, a man who’s been old enough to vote for over a decade is being described as “a young man in need of both defense and a friend” offering refreshments to a reporter “as if we were there for a playdate”. I keep a hummingbird feeder going. Ever since the brief, but bad, cold spell we had about a month ago, I've noticed that the rate at which the level in the feeder goes down has decreased. I wonder if some of our tiny bird friends didn't make it through. :(
One day I will own a Braun Atelier HiFi system. One day.

Today is a momentous day: my fiancée and I adopted our second dog. His name is Pika, and he is a Papillon dog.
Pika is a nine week old puppy, and he just arrived home today. Spent the evening introducing him to Diffie, our miniature poodle.
We are all incredibly happy.

One image she had on display in a shelf behind her, together with the albums she had, reminded me of artwork from "Poison Elves", so I was intrigued. Just checked their page and it's artwork for exactly this song and available on a shirt! :D Now I'm waiting for it to hopefully arrive.

- Photo from NFD's bandcamp merch shop. A black t-shirt with a white print. The bands logo on the top, at the bottom in handwriting "When The Sun Dies" and the print shows an upright panel with drawing of a long haired man in a long coat, behind him in the distance a church, the sky is dark and the sun is only visible as a corona. Thanks to Jane Wilkes I now have a new band to listen to. She made a video, talking a bit about the band (which has members from Fields Of The Nephilim) and showing the new merch she purchased. Been having this album on repeat and the first song is stuck in my head.
