- 6 Acknowledgments The majority of the work presented here was undertaken as part of C. Sharpe’s honours year at the University of Sydney, but was originally conceived by G. F. Lewis. We would like to thank A. Arbey et al. for making their A1terBBN code publicly available as this paper would not have been possible without it. G. F. Lewis received no funding to support this research. C. Sharpe would also like to thank NSW police for ensuring a swift return of his belongings, including his laptop, after having them burgled from his house a few weeks before this paper’s submission. Additionally, he would like to thank his neighbour, Gary, who spotted the burglar and, rather than simply phoning the police and staying put, decided to yell ‘you better run fast mate’ before chasing the man down the street, tackling him, pinning him to the ground, and then calling the police, all while still in his pyjamas and a sleepy daze. oh wait I actually finished season 7. The overarching plot had started to meander a bit so I wasn't in a big hurry to seek out the next one

I stopped watching Soup or Natural midway through season 7 like 6 months ago. I just started up S07E01 because I wanted some background noise but even with the "last time on..." intro montage I don't fully remember what was going on

I find myself being repulsed by artificially sensationalist headlines more and more. "Hubble Discovered Shocking Truth About the Andromeda Galaxy." I'm actually interested in what it is that it's discovered, but I really, really don't want to reward whomever decided to put the word "shocking" in to bate me. The repulsion to fakeness is strong enough for me to just not watch it.

I just got this book called Gothic Architecture and Sexuality in the Circle of Horace Walpole and it turns out that the original surrealists themselves agree:

The intro to my copy has a quote from one of Horace Walpole's letters where he says that the giant pieces of armor that appear in the story were actually inspired by things he saw in a dream.
Calling it "surreal" is a bit of an anachronism but not totally off-base, since he is working with dream imagery
