I love to use a local app on my desktop that looks just like and feels as sluggish as a website.

(And no it does not need to do anything with the cloud while it runs except for whatever surveillance I "agreed" to during the install.)

I'm entering "old many yells at cloud" territory, but I just realized we've gone from "mobile first" for websites to "web first" for everything. It's really too bad that the web became the de facto cross platform gui toolkit.
